Julian Hale is a freelance journalist, translator and communications expert with considerable experience of EU and NATO policy areas and culture (especially sport, cinema, history and languages). His initial journalistic experience was with the newswire service Agence France Presse. His experience has included writing (and editing) articles for various publications, including the Green European Journal, The Bulletin, The Brussels Times, Together Magazine, Defense News, Security Europe, Equal Times, Europolitics and EurActiv. He has written/edited/produced videos on various EU subjects in the last 20 years. More recently, he has started hosting a radio programme and producing podcasts in French for Radio Panik, a local radio station in Brussels and hosts regular informal events about languages/culture (most recently on Danish). He is an active member of the National Union of Journalists, the Association of European Journalists and the Belgian Chamber of Translators and Interpreters.
