Tourism entrepreneurs behind Moon World Resorts want to build a series of gigantic moon-shaped luxury resorts which showcase world-class sustainable development.
The moon-themed resorts will be a 360-degree recreation of the moon, including realistic-looking craters and texture. Each moon would have a height of 735 feet and a 2,042 foot circumference.
Speaking with CNN, Michael R. Henderson, co-founder of Moon World Resorts said that each resort will have a lot of moon-themed components—including the convention center, the restaurants, and the spa—, but the main attractions will be an experience that replicates a walk on the moon.
We will give you the ability in your lifetime to walk on what you will believe to be the lunar surface.

Henderson explains that the Moon World Resort project has several technical challenges, and has been in the work for years. Together with co-founder Sandra G. Matthews, Henderson is working with independent engineers and architects to create the ambitious project.
The company is planning to build four Moon resorts: one in North America, one in Europe, one in the Middle East and Northern Africa, and one in Asia.
The first licensee is expected to invest US$5 billion. Henderson hopes to secure it by the end of 2022, and to open the first Moon World resort in 2027. Dubai will be home of the first resort thanks to its strong tourist industry and infrastructure.
But the Moon resorts will be more than luxury and fun. They will also be a destination focused on sustainable development.
The Dubai project would be a LEED Platinum-certified venture, meaning that it would be entirely sustainable. This will be achieved by using an ecosystem-based environmental management approach, together with other strategies.
Additionally, the resort will feature a pollinator-friendly green area to foster biodiversity, and it will be powered using energy from renewable sources, such as solar, wind, and geothermal power plants.
MOON’s mission is to act as the educational bridge, demonstrating how a reduction in carbon emissions can protect humans, animals, and nature!

Once built, the vendors on the premises will also have to follow environmental management criteria. Moreover, customers will be served sustainably farmed seafood and free-range meat.
The entire resort will be focused on the health, wellness, and longevity of its guests.
