After a long pause, travelling is finally picking up again. People have been packing their bags with more enthusiasm than ever this summer, as a change of scenery was all they’d been waiting for. Yet not all’s the same as before. The impact of the pandemic on the travel industry has been huge and even now that things are getting back to normal again, there are some noticeable changes in the way we travel. After all, Covid-19 is still amongst us and therefore it shouldn’t come as a surprise that people are being cautious.
Where two years ago we didn’t think twice about hopping on a plane, the situation’s now totally different. The idea of spending multiple hours in an aircraft crammed with other people sets lots of us off. Even in normal times, planes aren’t known to be the most hygienic places on Earth and amidst a pandemic, that’s the kind of thing which gets people thinking. Maybe it’s better for now to opt for a different kind of trip? Maybe one which allows for your own mode of transportation? And that’s where the road trip makes its appearance.
Road trips have been popular for a very long time, yet this year, they’re maybe our preferred way of travelling. You’re not stuck with strangers, you can control how well you disinfect everything and it allows for a certain degree of freedom. You don’t have to plan everything in advance, you can just drive around, stop where you want and do as much sightseeing as you wish. When you’re travelling by car, you’ll still need to think about booking your accommodation for the night yet with an RV, things are different. Of course you can’t just park anywhere but you’ve got a lot of options.

Pottery Barn x Airstream
RV’s may remind you of the old school ones which were popular in the sixties, seventies and eighties. Yet we’ve found the modern RV of your dreams, making sure you don’t have to compromise on comfort not aesthetics. We’re talking about the special edition collab between Airstream and Pottery Barn – a shop that will sound familiar to ‘Friends’ fans. The RV comes fully furnished, from the bed linens to the couch and the outdoor furniture. All in neutral, very distinguished colors, making sure you don’t look like a fool when travelling.

“Pottery Barn has this kind of magical ability to shape a space. You see it in their home interiors, where there’s a comfortable, functional beauty to even the smallest spaces. They understand how your home is this canvas where real life happens, and we love how they applied that to the Airstream lifestyle”, as Airstream told Observer. Of course, such a special edition doesn’t come cheap. You’ll have to pay 145.000 dollars for the RV but then again, you can start traveling right away.
