During the 132-day journey, the cruise will take travellers to the Caribbean, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. The itinerary includes 58 destinations in 29 countries, with 17 overnight stays.
“Our 2028 World Cruise, ‘An Ode to the Moment’, is designed to slow time, offering deeper exploration of each destination,” said Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea. “With our unrivalled destination expertise, we guide guests to both iconic landmarks and hidden gems, ensuring they experience the world at its finest. Exclusive events, special access, and optional overland tours create once-in-a-lifetime moments unique to Silversea’s World Cruises.”
One cruise, nine chapters
An Ode to the Moment will be divided into nine different chapters, each aligned with the destinations and activities planned during that segment of the journey.
Anthem of the Tropics will explore the Caribbean, Reign of the Rainforest will traverse South America, Lands of Fire and Ice will circle Cape Horn, and The Beat of Tradition will conclude the American leg of the journey with Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.
The Sands of Time will mark the crossing of the Atlantic and the arrival in Cape Town, Nature in Verse will explore South Africa and Mauritius, Tales of Spice and Silk will introduce travellers to the Arabian Peninsula, and The Ancient Realmwill delve into the wonders of the Red Sea.
Finally, Echoes of Empire will take guests off the beaten path in the Mediterranean.
“Here’s to extraordinary discovery. Nights on Table Mountain and mornings beside Iguazu Falls. Swims on private islands and tours through historic estates. Private views of Rio’s carnaval. Eating from the hands of locals. Following the steps of legends on UNESCO Heritage Sites. From Caribbean waters to African safaris, and Mediterranean sunsets to Arabian nights — we take you to the ‘once in a lifetime”, reads the cruise description.
Small but mighty Silver Shadow
On board the Silver Shadow, cruise travellers will find all modern comforts and more. The all-suite ship may be one of the smallest vessels to host a world cruise, but with three gourmet dining options, ocean-view suites, and one of the highest space-to-guest ratios at sea, it is well suited for a 132-day journey.
