Fifteen European organisations have been shortlisted for the 2025 Europe Responsible Tourism Awards, sponsored by easyJet holidays, with winners to be revealed on 16 October at the Press Club Brussels Europe, in partnership with Travel Tomorrow. The event coincides with the final day of the EU’s European Week of Regions and Cities – the registration is already open.
The Responsible Tourism Awards, founded in 2004, celebrate initiatives that deliver measurable impact, inspire others, and showcase innovative approaches to sustainability in travel. This year marks the first time Europe has its own regional awards, joining established events in Africa, Latin America, the Indian Subcontinent, and Southeast Asia.
“Everyone on the recognition list has demonstrated clear evidence, replicability, innovation, influence, sustainability and an overall commitment to responsible tourism,” said Debbie Hindle, chair of ICRT Global. “Our awards are free to enter but difficult to win. We look forward to seeing our European winners compete against our other regional award winners from Latin America, Africa, the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia to compete for a Global Responsible Tourism Award”.
Each organisation will be presented with either a One to Watch, Silver, or Gold accolade at the Brussels ceremony.

“These awards are a celebration of the best Europe has to offer in shaping a more sustainable future for travel. The shortlisted initiatives show that responsibility and innovation can go hand in hand, delivering real impact for communities and destinations. In Brussels, at the heart of Europe, we are proud to shine a light on these stories and help inspire change across the global tourism sector,” commented António Buscardini, founder and Editor-in-Chief of Travel Tomorrow.
The awards recognise excellence in six categories: nature positive, climate adaptation and resilience, peace understanding and inclusion, managing waste, increasing local sourcing, and responsible all-inclusives.
Gold winners from the Europe Responsible Tourism Awards will advance to the 2025 Global Responsible Tourism Awards, sponsored by Sabre, with the results to be announced in London on 3 November. The European finalists will compete against top regional winners from Latin America, Africa, the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia, with the global shortlist already released.
