The James Bond franchise celebrated its 60th anniversary on 5 October, the first film in the series coming out in 1962. Needless to say, the occasion has been marked all around the world and, for the first time, EON Productions, the company behind the Bond legacy, has chosen an official travel agency partner to offer an immersive agent 007 experience.
1. The Assignment: Europe
Luxury travel company Black Tomato is now the exclusive and first official 007 travel partner. “It’s incredibly significant to be part of the Bond universe, and a huge privilege”, the company’s co-founder Tom Marchant told Euronews Culture. “Bond is such an icon – probably one of the best and most well-known British brands – and to be handpicked by EON is a special milestone in our company’s growth.”
Storytelling is a part of that and has always been at the heart of what we do. Literature, film and culture has always been a massive source of inspiration for travel, and whenever I’m reading a book or watching something, I’m always thinking about how to bring people into that world.
Tom Marchant, co-founder of Black Tomato
“The Assignment: Europe” launches in March 2023 and while details are yet to be disclosed, Black Tomato has revealed some highlights of the itinerary. VIP access will be granted to Monaco’s Casino de Monte-Carlo, including to private areas normally closed to the public. On Lake Como, guests will enjoy water-skiing along the shoreline of Moltrasimo before being ‘extracted’ by a seaplane and taken to the next adventure. The last detail of the exclusive trips that is available at the moment is the fact that the entire Chateau de Chantilly will be at the disposal of the guests, including horse riding through the 6,000-acre forest.
There will only be 60 limited edition, private trips for either individuals or private groups. The extravagant experience starts, of course, in London and will last 10-12 days. “I can safely say that vodka martinis will be drunk on this trip”, Marchant promised.
2. License to thrill
The Unforgettable Travel Company is also introducing some Bond inspired activities in their itineraries. While it is not an official partner of the franchise, it promises just as much excitement.
When combined with the knowledge, expertise and impeccable service of our travel specialists, these holidays have a guaranteed license to thrill.
