Combining arts and sports seems like a difficult thing to do. Most of the time, you’re either looking at art, all dressed up for the occasion and talking with a friend, pretending to know which painting you’ve got in front of you, or you put on your work-out gear and you suffer for about an hour in the gym or elsewhere, swearing to yourself that you’ll work on your physical condition, only to abandon that idea about one day later. But now, if you’re living in Paris or visiting the French capital at the right time, you could actually get some yoga done while your mind wanders on the incredible art surrounding you.
Sounds too good to be true, but it isn’t. No less than three Parisian museums are organising yoga sessions within their walls, giving you the opportunity not only to work on your strength, but also to immerse yourself in their artworks for a bit longer than usual. We’re sure that if Assane Diop, aka Lupin, would have been able to participate in such a class, he would have…
1. Musée d’Art Moderne
If you’re into modern art and in town on December 14th or January 11th, don’t forget to reserve your spot at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris. During a 2 hour session, you’ll discover the basics of Iyengar yoga.
Entrance fee: 9€
2. Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine
Are you more a fan of architecture? Paris has got you covered as well. On November 25th, January 27th, March 23rd and May 25th, you’ll be able to take a 2.5-hour long course in Vinyasa yoga. Tickets are a little more expensive but considering prices in general in Paris, it’s still a steal.
Entrance fee: 25€
3. Musée du Louvre
We already talked about Lupin earlier, but this really immerses you in his universe. And nothing holds you back to discover the rest of the Louvre after your 1.5-hour long yoga session. The Louvre organises yoga classes each third Friday of the month so a very easy event to put in your calendar for future reference.
Entrance fee: 12€
