Plans for the Andaz Gold Coast, scheduled to open mid-2025, have just been announced by the Hyatt Hotels Corporation. It will be part of the entertainment complex The Star Gold Coast and marks the arrival of the Andaz luxury resort brand in Australia and the Pacific.
âWe are thrilled to announce plans to bring the Andaz brand to Australiaâs premier resort destination in collaboration with The Star Gold Coast,â said David Udell, group president of Hyatt for Asia Pacific. âHyatt has had a brand presence in Australia for over 40 years, and we are excited to expand our luxury, lifestyle and leisure offerings into sought-after destinations like the Gold Coast. This resort will complement our current portfolio of 10 hotels under five distinct brands in Australia, including Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric and Hyatt Place.â
For Steve McPharlin, General Manager of Hotels at The Star Gold Coast, the addition of Andaz means an enrichment for the local area. âWe are delighted to welcome Andaz Gold Coast to our world-class tourism and entertainment precinct. As part of The Star Gold Coastâs AU$2 billion (approximately US$1.33 billion) masterplan, we are proud to continue our investment in this dynamic city while also providing new employment opportunities alongside vibrant hospitality experiencesâ, he said.
The Andaz Gold Coast hotel will be located on Broadbeach Island, meaning guests will be able to enjoy both the beaches and the rainforests behind them. A total of 202 guest rooms will be spread out over 16 floors in a 65-story tower. A fitness center, three dining location, an Andaz Lounge and an outdoor pool deck with a beach club and cocktail bar will complete the offer on-site. Australian architecture firm DBI Architects and design firm Hachem will be in charge of designing the space, following a âChase the Sunâ theme.
âThe Gold Coast is a world-renowned region, and it is energising for the tourism industry to be welcoming a new international hotel brand to the region,â said Patricia OâCallaghan, tourism and events Queensland chief executive officer. âMore than four million Australians visited the Gold Coast last year and we are steadily working our way to recover international arrivals to one of Australiaâs best known and well-loved destinations.â
The Star Gold Coast is an entertainment complex aiming to enhance tourism on Australiaâs Gold Coast. Even though already popular amongst national and international tourists, the luxurious project should make the region even more attractive. For the development, the Destination Gold Coast Consortium (including The Star Entertainment Group) worked together with the Far East Consortium and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises. The addition of the Andaz Gold Coast will not only enhance the Star Gold Coast but also Hyattâs portfolio.Â
