Museum Night Fever is back in Brussels this weekend, with 33 museums opening their doors on the night of 21 October.
Museum Night Fever (MNF) offers its visitors the chance to create their own original itinerary through a hundred or so artistic activities, the brainchild of young multidisciplinary talents, collectives or art schools and the museum teams. The aim of the event is to transform and break down the barriers in museums in the most original way possible for the greatest enjoyment of all audiences.
Besides the museums keeping open until late at night, between 7 pm and 1 am, young emerging artists will also reinterpret the museums’ locations, collections and exhibitions. Visual arts, dance, music, video, circus, performance… all the disciplines come together and guarantee a unique and festive atmosphere for an ever more enthusiastic public.
Students from art schools, emerging collectives and cultural associations develop an artistic programme especially designed for the evening, in resonance with the collections and exhibitions. Visitors are invited to take part in this creative momentum and become actors of the artistic performance, having a chance to try out cooking, dancing, musical composition or crossbow shooting.
Some of the museums are recurring participants, like Bozar or the Musical Instruments Museum, while others will be making their debut Saturday night, including Maison Autrique or the Beer Museum of Schaerbeek. While the Tram Museum will not keep open for the noght, it will be providing historical busses for art lovers to travel back in time during the evening.
While the venues will be closing at 1 am, MNF ensures the good spirit will be kept going until morning, with two afterparties, one at C12 and another at Botanique, both promising “the greatest DJs of the moment”.
To facilitate the Museum Night Fever experience, free STIB shuttles will run throughout the evening between the various participating venues. for those who want more flexibility than the pre-set routes, MNF partnered with Dott to offer participants free rides or free unlocks.
Presale of the tickets ends on Friday, until when tickets are €12 or €25 for a standard pass or standard + afterparty respectively. Those making up their minds last minute will be paying €19 or €29 respectively on Saturday, however, holders of a museum pass still get a €9 discount regardless of when they purchase the ticket.
To make the offer even more appealing, the MNF pass also comprises a free entrance to any of the participating museums until 25 November, for those who could not make it to all their preferred venues in one night.
