Here are 5 plant-based restaurants that do not make any use of animal products.
1. Liu Lin
Opened in 2019, Liu Lin is a street food bar inspired by Taiwanese flavors. The 100% vegan restaurant was founded by Liu and Lin, two sisters who share a healthy plant-based lifestyle. Liu Lin offers accessible vegan street food for eat in or take away. The sisters use only organic ingredients and biodegradable packaging. Although completely plant-based, their specialties sound appealing even to fish and meat lovers. The menu features calamares, prawn-like tempura, chicky bowls, and more: all of them carefully prepared with veggies! Liu Lin is located on Hoogstratt, 20, close to Sablon.
2. Le Botaniste
Le Botaniste serves vegan organic meals since 2015, when it first opened its doors in Ghent, Belgium. Today, the restaurant has two locations Brussels and one in New York City. The menu features colorful and creative dishes and natural wines, offering the opportunity to experience unique ways to eat vegetables. Besides being 100% plant-based, Le Botaniste is also 99% organic, gluten-free friendly, and certified C02 neutral. The first Brussels location is located on Rue Franklin, 2, right next to the European Commission, while a second location is on Rue du Bailli, 10.
3. Be Nuts
Be Nuts is a vegan gourmet pastry shop and tearoom that offers mouthwatering cakes, pastries, and some savory dishes as well. A healthy lifestyle is at the base of any recipe of Be Nuts. The pâtisserie offers tasty delicacies to anybody, carefully prepared by Léa Van de Berg and her team. Whether you are gluten or lactose intolerant, vegetarian or vegan, Be Nuts is for you! Be Nuts is located in the heart of Brussels, on Rue de la Victoire, 232.
4. Green House
Green House is not only 100% vegan. It is also a raw restaurant with very few cooked options. The restaurant offers savory plates, including salads, pasta, lasagna, burgers, and sushi, as well as raw cakes. Opened in 2019, this cozy place is located on Rue Lesbroussart 120, near Place Flagey and Avenue Louise.
5. Humus x Hortense
Humus x Hortense is a vegan fine restaurant with a peculiar menu that changes weekly. Each dish is prepared with seasonal high-quality ingredients coming from the wild farm Le Monde des Mille Couleurs. The restaurant pays particular attention to sustainability and food waste, thanks to conservation techniques and zero-waste cocktails. The delicious specialties are prepared by the couple Nicolas Decloedt and Caroline Baerten, together with their team of experts.
