Since the only downside of doing a champagne tour in France is having to drive afterwards and thus not being able to drink, Uber has now launched an exclusive service called Uber Bubbles. Starting from Paris, the tour operates through a flat fee and will take guests to some of the most renowned houses of the Champagne region.
2024 promises to be a big year for France. In part due to the Olympics, 16 million visitors are expected throughout the summer and many players in the tourism industry are therefore upping their game. Uber is one of them. Even though its services are usually limited to big cities, thanks to Uber Bubbles, champagne enthusiasts will now have the chance to be picked up in Paris, driven around all day long and then brought back to their hotel.
For the Bubbles experience, Uber is joining forces with champagne houses Perrier-Jouët and G.H. Mumm. The full day trip includes a 10 am pickup in Paris in an Uber Bubbles-branded Tesla, with the first stop along the journey being a champagne tasting of three cuvées and lunch at Perrier-Jouët’s Cellier Belle Époque in Épernay. Afterwards, riders will be whisked to Maison G.H. Mumm in Reims for a special cellar visit and a Cordon Rouge tasting before heading back to Paris for drop-off in the early evening.
“We are thrilled to partner with Uber this summer to offer riders the chance to discover our Champagne Houses via Uber Bubbles,” said François-Xavier Morizot, VP Champagne for G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët. “This is the perfect opportunity for travellers to enjoy the very best of our ‘bubbly’ experiences, including our beautiful cuvées, elevated gastronomy and exceptional grounds, both in Épernay with Maison Perrier-Jouët and in Reims with G.H. Mumm.”
The experience is already bookable and will be running from 7 June until 17 August. As far as reservations go, they can be made from 75 days to 24 hours in advance. An Uber Bubble will cost 200 euros and offers room for up to four people.
It is not the first special announced by Uber for Paris this summer. Uber Cruise, which should launch mid-July, will offe rtourists and locals free one hour tours on electric boats along the Seine in order to get a unique sightseeing experience of the French capital.
