What does Mr. and Mrs. Claus’s home look like? It’s a question many children have asked their parents, and with the festive season upon us, real estate group Zillow is offering us a glimpse inside the Christmas-proof residence.
While some families have the opportunity to travel all the way to the North Pole to experience Santa Claus’s home in real life, others are not as fortunate. However, with modern technology providing many possibilities, the real estate group Zillow has been offering a virtual tour of Santa’s home since 2016.
According to the Zillow listing, Santa Claus’ home, which is situated on the North Pole, was built in 1822 and has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is set on a 25 acre-domain and has its own sledge parking. The off-market property is estimated to cost a good $1.206.139 compared to similar abodes.
Inside the cabin is a grand hearth adorned with stockings, a kitchen for preparing gingerbread cookies and hot cocoa, and a mail room. The guest room has been transformed into a gift-wrapping room, and the toy shop is just outside. Overall, the cabin resembles what we imagined as children, and the virtual tour serves as a festive evening activity to enjoy with the whole family.
Aside from the tour, the listing also has another special feature. It allows families to patch through their new address to Santa, as many kids are afraid Santa won’t be able to bring them their Christmas gifts after moving. The ‘Let Santa Know You Moved’ resolves that issue.
“Celebrating the holidays in a new home is exciting, but can also be overwhelming. At Zillow, we know moving is hard and we’re always building tools to help make that process less stressful. We also know parents, in particular, take on more stress in a move, which can be compounded by holiday pressures. When families can share their new address with Santa, they can bring some comfort to children during a period of change”, said Amanda Pendleton, Zillow’s home trends expert.
Given Zillow’s nature, Santa’s listing aims to highlight all the features of the website for those looking to sell their own home — such as 3D virtual tours, so-called Showcase Listings and floor plans.
