Creative liveries are some of the most striking ways to stand out as an airline. Several projects will take off in 2026, and we’ve selected some of the most fun ones to look out for over the coming months.
Brussels Airlines
Since February 2026, Brussels Airlines has been flying a very special Airbus A320. The Belgian Icon aircraft, registered as OO-SNJ, has been dedicated to the internationally cherished comic character Tintin. It is the second Brussels Airlines plane to be decorated with one of Hergé’s iconic characters, this time with a space-themed drawing.
“Comic art is an essential part of Belgium’s cultural identity, and Hergé’s work continues to inspire people around the world. It is no coincidence that Rackham was our very first Belgian Icon. With this new aircraft, we deepen that legacy and strengthen our mission to showcase Belgian creativity around the world. We are proud to bring another iconic piece of Belgian culture into the skies and to offer our passengers a unique experience,” Dorothea von Boxberg, CEO of Brussels Airlines, said at the time.

All Nippon Airways (ANA)
In 1998, All Nippon Airways deployed the world’s first Pokémon Jet, and that partnership is set to continue in 2026 in order to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon brand. Throughout the year, three new Pokémon Jets will be introduced, boasting dedicated liveries. The Pokémon Jet Red, a Boeing 787-8, and the Pokémon Jet Blue, a Boeing 737-800, will be flying domestic routes, while the Pokémon Jet Green, a Boeing 787-9, is scheduled to service international routes.
“This project goes beyond just a livery; it’s about creating an immersive world that sparks imagination, inspires curiosity and brings the joy of discovery to our passengers throughout their journey. Whether you first began your journey on a Game Boy screen decades ago, or are currently exploring new regions through your mobile apps, we invite you to take your next ‘adventure’ into the real world with ANA. Many of our passengers flying with us today were the kids who marvelled at our first Pokémon Jet in 1998. We are honoured to be the wings that carry not just passengers, but also their cherished memories and future adventures,” said Keiji Omae, Executive Vice President of Customer Experience at ANA.
Air India Express
Air India Express and contemporary artist and illustrator Osheen Siva have joined forces to design a new livery for a Boeing 737-8 aircraft. The drawings are an interpretation of the Tamil heritage by Siva, who also incorporated some surrealism and science fiction into his design. The new livery is a continuation of Air India Express’ Tales of India initiative, which dons some of its airplanes in designs inspired by different Indian heritage-inspired designs.
“Art is one of the most powerful universal languages – it transcends borders, cultures, and geographies to connect people in ways few things can. With the Tales of India and its extension to The Flying Canvas project, we are literally taking that idea to the skies, transforming an aircraft into a moving expression of living cultural identity. This initiative reflects how we see travel – not just as a journey between destinations, but as an opportunity to experience, interpret, and connect with culture and communities in meaningful ways. As one of the most culturally engaged airlines globally, we are proud and delighted to create spaces where art, travel, and human connection come together,” Air India Express Chief Marketing Officer Siddhartha Butalia said about the campaign.
China Airlines
Following a first Pikachu Jet in 2022, China Airlines has unveiled its second Pokémon-themed aircraft in 2026. The Airbus A350, launched on 2 April, features 13 Pokémon cartoons in combination with a pastel-coloured floral pattern. The plane will be servicing the Taoyuan – Tokyo (Narita) and Taoyuan – Seattle routes. Aside from the livery, the airline is also offering Pokémon-themed children’s meals across all routes and a special collection of Pokémon merchandise to celebrate the brand’s 30th anniversary.
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS)
SAS is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2026, and to mark the occasion, an Airbus A330-300 (named Tore Viking and registered as LN-RKR) has been equipped with a livery boasting the airline’s signature cobalt blue. For the first time, an entire aircraft has been painted in the striking colour, while the red, blue, white, and yellow accents refer to the flags of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
80 years of connecting Scandinavia to the world deserves something truly special. We’re proud to unveil the SAS 80th Anniversary livery.

“For 80 years, Scandinavian Airlines has driven innovation and brought Scandinavia closer to the world through safe and reliable operations. From our first transatlantic flight to today’s global network, that purpose remains unchanged. This aircraft is a symbol of our heritage, and of the role we play every day for our customers and the societies we serve”, SAS CEO Anko van der Werff said about the livery.
