Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. Venice remains a very popular tourist destination, a major cultural center, and has been ranked the most beautiful city in the world many times. It has also been described as one of Europe’s most romantic cities in the world. I’d like to share with you at least 10 nice places where you take beautiful pictures, should you have the chance to visit Venice.
1. St. Mark’s Basilica
St. Mark’s Basilica is the most famous of the city’s churches, one of the best-known examples of Italo-Byzantine architecture and a landmark of the city, you can take lovely pictures from outside or inside the cathedral.
2. Rialto Bridge
Rialto Bridge is the oldest of the four bridges spanning the Grand Canal in Venice. This is certainly a beautiful place to visit and take pictures in the evening with all the light, but during the days the sunlight there is also great for photos. It is not surprising this one of the most famous photography spots in Venice.
3. The Grand Canal
Another iconic place in Venice the Grand Canal. You can see this place in almost all postcards of Venice. This is definitely a great place to be on your Instagram profile.
4. Gondolier little canals
Exploring Venice by Gondola is a must, sailing through the narrow canals is the best way to get nice pictures. The gondolier with their typical costume can also be a model and is the guide.
5. Colourful Houses
If you want to get a different view of Venice you should visit this place, the beautiful colorful houses on Burano Island. You can try also to explore this picturesque place by boat! The best time to visit this place is around sunset.
6. Riva degli Schiavoni
The Riva Degli Schiavoni is a waterfront area in Venice, originally built in the ninth century from dredged silt and named for the Slavic men who brought cargo to Venice from across the Adriatic Sea. During the Summer it is always full of tourists but still a lovely place to do a photoshoot for your social media.
7. Canaregio
If you want to escape the crowds of tourists you should to visit this place. The narrow alley will make your pictures just perfect and unique.
8. Doge’s Palace
The Palace was built in Venetian Gothic style and is one of the main landmarks of the city. At night, all the city light makes this Palace just magical.
9. Scuola Grande di San Rocco
The Scuola Grande di San Rocco is a building in Venice, noted for its collection of paintings by Tintoretto and generally agreed to include some of his finest work. The interior of the building is also amazing and you can find plenty of places to take nice pictures.
10. Ponte Dei Sospiri
The Bridge of Sighs is only 8 meters in length but really very beautiful and always busy with the tourists. It was built in 1600 and it was designed by Antonio Contino, whose uncle Antonio da Ponte designed the Rialto Bridge.
