I’ve added a few touches to bring some much-needed Kenergy to the newly renovated and iconic Malibu DreamHouse.
Ken
But here’s the twist: Barbie’s beloved boyfriend, Ken, has added his unique touch to the “life-size toy pink mansion,” offering an unforgettable experience curated by his own taste. With Barbie temporarily away, she has entrusted Ken with the keys to her Malibu DreamHouse, making his room available for a few lucky guest’s overnight stay. Ken has added his own special flair to the newly renovated and iconic DreamHouse, infusing it with his vibrant Kenergy and style.
In the AirBnb listing, purportedly written by Ken himself, he extends a warm welcome to his Kendom adorned with cowboy gear, an outdoor disco dance floor and even a wadrobe, filled to the brim with stylish outfits showcasing Ken’s fashion sense. “Welcome to my Kendom! While Barbie is away, she has handed over the keys to her Malibu DreamHouse this summer and my room could be yours for the night”, it reads. The selected guests will also receive Ken’s style yellow and pink Impala skates and a surfboard.
Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse – Ken’s Way! offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Barbie and live out your childhood dreams. For Barbie, “life in plastic is fantastic” and it sure is pink. Very, very pink. According to the production designer of the movie, Sarah Greenwood, “The world ran out of pink”, as the amount of paint necessary to bring Barbie’s scenario to life caused an international run on the pink, fluorescent shade of Rosco paint. This whimsical detail adds to the enchantment and uniqueness of the DreamHouse experience.
In line with the Barbie Movie, directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, that follows the iconic duo as they venture beyond Barbie Land to explore the “real world”, Airbnb will make a one-time donation to Save the Children as a celebration of girls’ empowerment.
