As of 1 March 2024, Tokyo Bay will be boasting a brand new entertainment option for tourists and locals alike. Immersive Fort Tokyo will be the world’s first theme park consisting of exclusively immersive experiences. Opening with twelve brand new attractions, the park will be located on Odaiba, also known as Tokyo’s entertainment island.
At the moment, Odaiba already has a lot on offer for anyone who’s in the market for a day of fun and excitement. The development of the area started out in the 1980’s and has been expanding ever since. Pleasure cruising, entertainment attractions and vast shopping malls are just some of the options out there for anyone looking to have a good time.
Immersive Fort Tokyo will be located on the grounds where the Venus Fort shopping complex once stood. The park will, among others, feature a large-scale theatre experience that lasts for more than an hour, a full-scale horror experience and an experience where park visitors find themselves inside a cabaret show that takes place in a restaurant. Aside from the twelve immersive attractions, the park will also include four food courts and two retail locations. Overall, the site will span over a surface of 30,000 square metres.
The set-up of Immersive Fort Tokyo is said to be inspired by London’s interactive theatre shows. Visitors will get to play an integral role in the different attractions. The “Sherlock – Baker Street Murder Case”, for example, will enable visitors to take part in a murder mystery. As a participant, guests will be invited to search the park in pursuit of the suspect, either alone or alongside detective Holmes.
Another example of what to expect from the park is the Tokyo Revenger themed escape room. Participants will be caught up in a fight between the Tokyo Manji Gang and a new group of delinquents and asked to solve different puzzles in order to round up the case. The Japanese idol-themed anime Oshi no Ko and the Jack the Ripper horror maze are just another few of the experiences open to visitors in the park.
Tickets start at 19 euros for children and go up to a little over 90 euros for an all-inclusive pass. Tickets range in price depending on how many of the attractions they cover, from just nine of the experiences to eleven or all twelve.
