Urtopia has presented the world’s first e-bike with integrated ChatGPT at Eurobike 2023. The innovative concept is being dubbed “the bicycle with a mind”.
1. Urtopia Fusion
Urtopia, trailblazer in the cycling industry, is breaking the boundaries between bike and smart device by introducing the world’s first smart e-bike — Urtopia Fusion — with voice interaction powered by ChatGPT.
Weighing under 20 kg with full carbon fiber, the new e-bike is a piece of art, featured by stylish industrial design and all-road adaptability, and equipped with Urtopia smart system. The bike is recognized by Hartmut Esslinger, Apple’s designer, as “the iPhone in e-bike”. With the power of ChatGPT and Urtopia’s voice recognition feature, the Urtopia smart e-bike presents a unique companion for riders, delivering real-time assistance based on users’ needs.
The announcement was revealed on June 27 at Eurobike 2023, together with other proprietary technology delivered by Urtopia and related to built-in GPS navigation, anti-theft, riding safety and data recording. Urtopia follows Mercedes Benz in offering ChatGPT integration to its customers, with the German automaker announcing the addition of the chatbot to its MBUX multimedia system.
2. IoT and health
Despite a technology-driven culture, the company envisions an Internet of Things (IoT) future, where seamless integration with various platforms, apps, and devices enriches the cycling experience. For example, Urtopia e-bikes are now connected with popular platforms like Apple Health and Strava. Through the integration of iWatch health data, riders can effectively monitor their heart rate fluctuations while cycling, while the bike will adjust power compensation automatically, enabling a better exercising experience and longer riding distance.
3. Carbon credit
Moreover, by leveraging the great user base of Strava, a social fitness platform, riders can easily share their cycling tracks and the carbon credit they earned through social media and invite more people to join in the sport. By purchasing or earning carbon credits, organizations or people can offset their own emissions by supporting projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions elsewhere.
