The nights in Braga will once again be white for three days with the return of Braga’s White Night, which will take place from the 8th to the 10th of September. The program includes close to 50 hours of celebration, 5 stages and more than 150 cultural and artistic events.
This year’s edition of Braga’s White Night will feature not only big names in the Portuguese national music scene but also theater, performance, contemporary circus, dance, street art, heritage, exhibitions, artistic workshops, among others. This year the main stage will not be at Central Square (Praça do Município) but at the Pópulo. The decision was taken with the aim of providing greater comfort and safety to the public.
The ‘White Night’ is an annual all-night or night-time arts festival in a city. A ‘White Night’ typically has museums, private and public art galleries, and other cultural institutions open and free of charge. There are several spaces dedicated to art installations, performances, themed social gatherings, and other activities.
The streets will be invaded by thousands of people who want to enjoy this great moment of collective exaltation.
Ricardo Rio, Mayor of Braga
“This is a moment for all generations, it is a moment that attracts families, friends and all those who like the national artists or the performances that will be present here and that will fill the stages and streets of intense cultural activity,” said Rio.
On the very first day of Braga’s White Night, Miguel Araújo will perform at the Pópulo Stage. Araújo will be joined by the group Ai Braguesa, and by D.A.M.A. Piruka will debut at the Avenida Stage, followed by Karetus.
On the 9th of September, Cuca Roseta will perform on the Pópulo Stage, with the special participation of the Espiral Team. Pópulo will also host the concert of Carolina Deslandes, while Blaya will perform on the Avenida Stage.
On the 10th of September, Orquestra Bamba Social & Tiago Nacarato will perform on the Avenida Stage, while Marisa Liz will delight fans at Pópulo in a concert with the special participation of the Banda Musical de Cabreiros, which is celebrating 180 years of existence.
