This makes it the second consecutive victory for a Barcelona-based establishment following Paradiso’s win in 2022, solidifying the city’s status as a global hub for top-notch mixology and hospitality.
The awars ceremony, held in Asia for the first time, honored the trailblazers of the global drinks sector, applauding the innovation and excellence that shape contemporary cocktail culture.
London continued its strong presence with five bars on the list, including two in the top 10 – Connaught Bar in fifth place and Tayēr + Elementary in eight. Athens, Paris and Berlin also made notable contributions, with Line in Athens receiving the London Essence Best New Opening Award and Himkok in Oslo clinching the Nikka Highest Climber Award after jumping 33 places.
New York and Mexico City showcased their competitive spirits, with Double Chicken Please from New York crowned The Best Bar in North America and Handshake Speakeasy from Mexico City climbing eight places to secure the third spot. The World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 list emphasized the global bar community’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of mixology and fostering a culture of creativity and innovation within the industry.
