The World’s 50 Best Bars for 2022 have been revealed. The award ceremony took place in Barcelona on 4 October, the first time in the award’s 14-year history it is held outside London. The winner, Paradiso, also marked the first time the bar in 1st place is from outside London or New York.
The 2022 list features bars from 26 cities, with bars from Florence, Lisbon and Naples being for the first time in the top 50. There are also 14 new entries on the list, spread across Athens, Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Dubai, Florence, Hog Kong, Lisbon, London, Naples and New York.
Legendary bartender Agostino Perrone was voted Roku Industry Icon, Stockholm’s Röda Huset was named Campari One to Watch, Juliana, of Guayaquil, while won the Siete Misterios Best Cocktail Menu.
Special awards for the bars include Little Red Door, in Paris, which got the Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award, New York’s Double Chicken Please received Highest New Entry, being on the list for the first time and already at number 6, Sips, in Barcelona, was awarded Nikka Highest Climber, moving from number 37 last year to number 3, Licorería Limantour, in Mexico city claimed the title of Rémy Martin Legend on the List, while Bangkok’s BKK Social Club was named London Essence Best New Opening.
