Season four of the drama-comedy show Ted Lasso has started shooting in Kansas City, Missouri. In the Apple TV+ show, Kansas City native Jason Sudeikis stars as an American football coach who moves to England to manage the AFC Richmond team. The new season seems to be prominently featuring Sudeikis’s Midwestern hometown.
The cast and crew of the show have been spotted in different locations around the city, while Apple TV+ posted an Instagram video teaser of a Kansas City Restaurant.
“‘Ted Lasso’ filming in Kansas City represents everything we’ve been working toward,” said Rachel Kephart, director of the KC Film Office, an organisation led by Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, attempting to attract film, TV, and commercial productions to the city, while supporting the local entertainment industry growth.
These are some of the key filming spots so far.
Gates Bar-B-Q
In the teaser scene posted on Instagram, Apple TV+ revealed that the Main Street location of the Gates Bar-B-Q will be featured in season four. The restaurant, one of five in the Kansas City area, is famous for its signature sauce and local specialty, burnt ends—the flavourful, caramelized pieces of meat cut from the point of a brisket. Fans of Ted Lasso can have a meal at the eatery once shooting has wrapped up.
CPKC Stadium
Actors Jason Sudeikis and Hannah Waddingham were seen filming at the CPKC stadium, home of the Kansas City Current. The stadium, which opened in March 2024, is the first in the world to be privately financed and built specifically for a professional women’s soccer team.
Country Club Plaza
It is known that scenes for season four have been filmed at the Country Club Plaza, a historic downtown Kansas City shopping area known for its Spanish architecture and numerous fountains. The area offers a mix of designer shops and popular restaurants. Season four supposedly followed Ted coaching a women’s football team, and during filming at the Plaza, Sudeikis was spotted wearing a jacket with the Kansas City Current logo. Interestingly, the Current is the first National Women’s Soccer League Team to sell out all of its home games.
Suburb’s locations
Videos of the show being filmed in the Blue Springs neighbourhood have been circulating, which is likely to be the new home of the main character. After Ted Lasso’s return to Kansas at the end of season three, it appears his English friends have travelled from England to visit him.

The production crew also spent a whole day filming at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, located in Kansas City’s historic jazz district. This museum preserves and celebrates the history of African American baseball and its role in social change in America. It features a wide variety of photos, artifacts, and film exhibits for visitors to explore.
