The Switzerland based hotel.school has announced its entry into the virtual online education sector, providing virtual education for hospitality professionals and ‘transforming hospitality education’.
1. About hotel.school
Following its successful pre-launch this October, hotel.school is now online with the domain name hotel.school. The school describes themselves as, ‘the next-generation Swiss hotel school. An online learning platform with self-paced courses aimed at current hospitality professionals and those interested in joining the sector’ and aims to, ‘accelerate careers in hospitality by using technology-driven education and partnering with leading professionals in tune with the current needs of the industry.’ Hotel.school provides accessible and impactful, brain-based, virtual micro courses of Swiss-quality, for those in the industry who are looking to up-skill and/or re-skill.
2. The team behind hotel.school
The team at hotel.school is made up of experienced executives with backgrounds in technology, private education, hospitality and tourism, and they are already gaining attention, with hotel.school currently a finalist for an EducationInvestor Award 2020. They also have a strong advisory board formed by industry veterans who provide guidance and an all-round perspective.
3. What’s on offer
Hotel.school will initially offer the following courses:
- Corporate Social Responsibility
- Digital Transformation
- Emotional Intelligence for Hoteliers
- Managing Social Media
- Strategic Revenue Management
- Value Creation in F&B
- Distribution Channel Strategy
These courses are currently on offer at a promotional launch price of 149 CHF/EUR, and twenty new courses are in development along with a range of special collections.
4. Helping the industry post Covid-19
Hotel.school aims to bring hospitality education to a wider audience, and as part of this, and as their first CSR initiative, they are launching their first scholarship fund, awarding scholarships for the Swiss Master Hotelier programme to those in the industry with careers affected by Covid-19. The fund will be established by hotel.school in partnership with Tourism Boards and Hospitality Companies and will award 2000 scholarships, covering from 50-100% of the programme’s fees, for students starting in January 2021.
