As an Indonesian living in Europe, I miss sometimes Indonesian cuisine or Asian food. Of course, I can cook it by myself but sometimes going to a restaurant to eat some special dishes is easier. Unfortunately, there are no more Indonesian restaurants in Brussels. Indonesian food in some recipes looks similar to Thai, Vietnamese, or Chinese food, because the base is the same: rice, noodles, rice noodles, vegetables and also seafood and… spicy flavors. In Brussels, we can find a lot of Asian restaurants (Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese…) with different tastes, prices, and different atmospheres. Here are my favourite Asian restaurants in Brussels. Bon appétit!
1. Yaki
This is certainly my favorite Asian restaurants in Brussels, why? Because I can find Vietnamese and Thai food in one place and the quality is really good. There are 3 Yaki Restaurants in Brussels: near the Grand-Place, in St Gerry, and in St Catherine. The fried rice is amazing! You should also try Bo bun also, Pad Thai, and Tom Yum soup.
2. Takumi
If you like Ramen, this restaurant is just for you! You can choose which Takumi you would like to visit in Brussels, there 4 restaurants (Place Flagey, Ste-Catherine, Place Jordan and Zaventem). You can also eat rice with different toppings, gyoza, karaage, and more.
3. Dam Sum
This is a lovely place to have lunch or dinner with a variety of soups, noodles, or rice but this place is the perfect restaurant to eat Dim Sum. You can visit the restaurants at Place St-Catherine and Ixelles.
4. Orchidée Rose
Located in Rue Van Artevelde 16, in Brussels not far from Halle St. Gerry, this restaurant serves a menu from Vietnam, China, or Thai Food. Noodles soup with lacquered duck is my favorite and I like the coconut water. It’s delicious!
5. Makisu
Makisu is a place for sushi lovers. You can visit the restaurants at Rue du Baili, St. Catherine, St.Gilles or Ixelles. Here you can create your own sushi with different ingredients, topping, and sauces. Hmm, so yummy!
