Thalys has announced that from the 13th of December until the end of January, it will offer four daily return trips between Brussels and Paris. The company conveyed the information in a press release on Tuesday, November 24th.
Thalys is also resuming its connections to Germany, which had been interrupted since November 2nd due to government containment measures. Connections to Dortmund will be resumed at the rate of one round trip per day. As for Izy trains, the traffic remains suspended throughout this period. The Brussels-Amsterdam link also remains limited to one return trip per day.
Due to the travel restrictions linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, Thalys has cancelled a large part of its offers in recent months. The company is expecting a 70% drop in its revenue for 2020.
In 2021, Thalys will continue to adapt its offer according to the recovery in demand and the evolution of its sales, the company stated. A full return to the number of trains on its main routes, however, is not expected before 2022.
