From September 11th until October 25th, Korean Air will be introducing direct flights from Seoul Incheon to Lisbon, Portugal. The airline will operate three weekly flights between Seoul Incheon and Lisbon on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The new connection will be assured by the airline’s Boeing 787-9 fleet, which will make 20 return flights during the two months. Even though there is no planning available for the winter season just yet, Korean Air plans on extending the service after October 25th.
Lisbon is trendy
“Lisbon is nestled along the banks of the Tagus River on the Iberian Peninsula, and offers a combination of historical and contemporary attractions. From the beautiful beaches to multiple UNESCO World Heritage sites, the city is an appealing destination for both leisure seekers and cultural explorers. Travellers can easily immerse themselves in local culture, with highlights such as the Jerónimo’s Monastery and traditional tram rides”, Korean Airlines explains in a press release.
Until now, those who wanted to travel from Northeast Asia to Lisbon had to book connecting flights in order to do so or had to travel by land from one of Portugal’s neighbouring countries. Korean Air hopes to make travel between the countries easier and therefore more accessible to anyone wanting to explore the region. Tickets for the flights between Soul and Lisbon are already on sale through Korean Airline’s website, app and travel agencies.
Last week, Korean Air already announced it would be introducing a daily service from Seoul Incheon to Macau, former Portuguese colony, while thrice weekly flights between Seoul Incheon and Zurich in Switzerland aboard the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft had resumed last month. Thanks to those added connections, the airline now has 110 cities across 40 countries on five continents in its portfolio, using a fleet of 160 aircraft.
