1. Travel for Europeans
French Transport Minister Jean-Baptiste Djebbari announced on Friday that from 9th June Europeans entering France who have already been vaccinated against Covid-19 will not need to provide proof of a negative PCR test. France classes ‘vaccinated’ people as those who have been fully vaccinated for at least two weeks on the date of travel, or four weeks for the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

2. Travel from other countries
From this date France will also reopen to other countries according to a traffic light system based on the health situation of each country, which will be classified by colour (green, orange and red) as well as vaccination. Non-essential will be allowed from countries classified as “green” (EU/EEA, Australia, South Korea, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand and Singapore), with only non-vaccinated people having to provide a PCR or antigen test less than 72 hours old. Travellers from “orange” countries such as the United States or the United Kingdom will require a PCR or antigen test even if the traveller has been vaccinated.
For “red” countries (South Africa, Argentina, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Turkey, Uruguay), travellers must have an essential reason for travelling to France, as well as PCR or antigen tests regardless of vaccination. For “red” countries travellers will also have to quarantine for seven to ten days upon arrival on French territory.
