Nintendo fans are celebrating the news: there’s now an opening date for Super Nintendo World in the US. The innovative, immersive and highly anticipated themed area will open at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2023, in California, and will be the first Super Nintendo World to open in that country, as the opening date of the Orlando Super Nintendo has not yet been set.
Globally, the first Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan has already opened in 2021, while the US premiere of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood will transport visitors and Nintendo fans to the world of Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach and become part of this immersive universe.
Super Nintendo World was developed in partnership with Nintendo and the Universal Creative team to offer “exciting entertainment with innovative technology,” inspired by characters and video games that have appealed to generations of Nintendo fans for more than 40 years.
Located in a newly expanded area of Universal Park, this immersive area promises “a visual spectacle of vibrant colors and architectural ingenuity, with modern attractions and interactive spaces for the whole family.”
In turn, themed stores and restaurants will contribute to make the experience “even better.” To mark the countdown to the area’s exciting debut, Universal Studios Hollywood’s famous Feature Presentation store will have an entire corner dedicated to Super Nintendo World, opening soon.
Just inside the park’s main entrance, guests will be able to prepare for the area’s arrival in 2023 with a variety of items, including Mario and Luigi apparel and iconic character hats. In addition, there will be a selection of plush characters in various sizes, including Yoshi, Mario Bowser and Luigi.
Universal Studios Hollywood includes a full movie-based theme park and Studio Tour, and features immersive areas inspired by iconic movies and television shows.
The world-renowned Studio Tour is Universal Studios Hollywood’s signature attraction, inviting guests behind-the-scenes at the film and television production studio, where they can also experience such thrill rides as “Fast & Furious -Supercharged” and “King Kong 360 3D”.
