The Dubuisson Brewery prides itself on being Wallonia’s oldest brewery that is still in operation and claims to be one of the most authentic and innovative. Discover how Bush Blonde, Pêche Mel Bush, Bush Noel and Cuvée des Trolls are made. These beers are well known in our country and distributed in more than thirty countries. Dubuisson has been brewing authentic natural Belgian beers since 1769.
Originally, the brewery was just the annex of a farm based in Pipaix (Leuze-en-Hainaut) used by Joseph Leroy to brew only for the needs of his farm workers and the village inhabitants. This small local production continued until 1932, when Alfred and Antoine Dubuisson bought the farm-brewery and turned it into a fully-fledged brewery. One year later, the famous Bush Beer was born (Bière Dubuisson, buisson meaning bush in English). With its 12% alcohol content, the traditional Bush is the country’s strongest beer. At the end of the nineties, variants appeared, including the famous Cuvée des Trolls in 2000.
The Beerstorium offers more than just a visit to a beer museum. By way of virtual reality, 3D animations and a never-seen-before escape game, the tour takes visitors to the Castle of Ghyssegnies where everything began 250 years ago.
