Street Art Cities is an organization that has been active in about 900 cities worldwide since 2016. In the meantime, it has already discovered 37,000 works of art with the help of hunters or hunters who go in search of the most beautiful works. Through social media such as Instagram, people can choose their favorite artwork every month. The 25 best ones are picked out. People can then vote for the very best.
I have been living in beautiful Aalst for a few years now. I was born in Ghent but have lost my heart here. In the future, I hope to bring some color to the streets here as well.

With the artwork “The Girl with the Windmills”, which he created on a facade in Lokeren, he was one of the 25 best for the month of December in the international street art competition. The artwork is a depiction of a woman of African origin wearing a headscarf and holding a bird. The artwork was commissioned by the 11.11.11 action, in cooperation with the city of Lokeren and Wallin’ vzw.
There is also a Street Art Cities app that can be downloaded and on which routes can be followed in the different cities to see the works. By the way, anyone can become such a hunter, it can be done with a notification through the same app.
This woman symbolizes solidarity, love and unity. The earrings she wears in the shape of a mill are a reference to the Heirbridge mill, as is her turban
