Alyzia SAS has been allowed the right to operate as a ground handling service provider at Brussels Airport for the next six months and will receive a temporary license for baggage handling and ramp handling. Alyzia SAS will now start negotiations with the airlines and take the necessary steps to recruit staff. Alyzia will start operations, subject to DGTA approval, on 1 July.
Pending the organization of the normal procedure for the selection of a new handler to replace Swissport Belgium and the granting of a second license (for the categories limited to baggage and ramp handling), Brussels Airport has granted a temporary license to a Alyzia SAS as second handler to carry out handling activities.
Alyzia has been able to demonstrate that it is able to start up in the very short term and can offer the necessary guarantees to provide assistance services to airlines in a safe, correct and qualitative way. This new partner will be authorized to carry out two activities: baggage handling and ramp handling. In addition, it can also offer passenger assistance services (such as check-in) and cleaning.
Alyzia is a French handler offering a full range of ground handling activities and is present at all major airports in France (Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon). Alyzia has more than 3000 staff members and more than 80 airlines in its portfolio, several of which are also active at Brussels Airport. Its strategy is to further develop its activities on an international scale. Alyzia intends to take advantage of the existing experience of former staff members of Swissport Belgium.
