Amsterdam is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. What makes Amsterdam so special? Some people say, “the canals, the Dutch houses, the cheese, the red-light district and much more”. Sometimes when I get bored, I just take the train or bus from Brussels to go to Amsterdam just for a one-day visit. With FLIXBUS the price is quite cheap, while with the train it’s faster. One thing that I like about Amsterdam is that there I can find many Indonesian restaurants.
As one day is not enough to visit the entire city, I always make a plan to take the most out of my one-day trip. I want to show you a few pictures from my last visit to Amsterdam in a day.
The Rijksmuseum is a Dutch national museum dedicated to arts and history in Amsterdam. The museum is located at the Museum Square in the borough of Amsterdam South. It is one of the most visited museums in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is famous for its canals: just walk alongside the water and enjoy the city!
This is the famous Damrak with boats and historical buildings. Perhaps you have already seen it in a postcard from Amsterdam or on Instagram
Visiting Amsterdam can also easily be done with boat tours or river cruises
The “Royal Palace Amsterdam” is King Willem-Alexander’s official reception palace. The palace is open for public and not too far from the west side of Dam Square
Amsterdam is also famous for its traditional souvenirs. There are many souvenirs shops where you can find plenty of crazy things and especially Amsterdam clogs. Clogs are traditional Dutch wooden shoes and are an important part of Dutch heritage. They are still worn in rural parts of the country 😊
