It is difficult to say what it is that is so magical about the beer but one thing is for sure: beer conquered the world, hearts of the people and became an inseparable part of cultures. There is a long lasting tradition in Europe of beer brewing and beer drinking – and though there are many cities and places that are worth visiting for their beer culture (and other important things but we’ll just stick to beer for now), we bring you our top 6:
1. Munich
There is definitely not a single beer lover that hasn’t heard of the famous Oktoberfest in Munich which every year attracts numerous tourists from all around the world. The Bavarian capital is well known for its beers, breweries and drinking beer in Munich is simple a must-do, something like having croissant in Paris. With beer being an important part of German culture and Munich at the forefront of the German cities with excellent beer, you will sure understand why this is a top destination for any beer lover. We certainly hope that it will be possible to go to Oktoberfest next year!
2. Brussels
One of the European capitals of beer is Brussels for sure. Well, the whole Belgium is quite famous for its beer but let’s just stick to Brussels for now. There is excellent beer at every step in this city bustling with bars, cafes and restaurants and one of the most fun guided tours that you can do is actually a beer tasting tour that will satisfy also the most demanding beer lovers. One of the most famous bars is definitely Delirium where you can choose between over 2000 beers from all around the world. Not an easy pick!

3. Prague
One of the cities with the most famous tradition of beer and breweries is also Prague – you can go all day and night visiting the pubs and bars, enjoying the excellent and, we have to add, still inexpensive beer. When visiting a city with such a strong brewing tradition, it is also worthwhile to visit a brewery such as the Strahov Monastery Brewery and also take a look at the Prague Beer Museum – as a true beer lover you will definitely enjoy it.
4. Dublin
We all know that the Irish love their beer – this can also be very well seen in their capital, Dublin, the home of the Guinness, one of the most famous world breweries that welcomes people from all over the world. When in Dublin, just relax and go pub crawling – you will not be sorry and we are sure you will have interesting stories to tell. No need to wait until the St Patrick’s Day to do so – the Irish love the beer whole year long!
5. London
Fancy a pint? We can’t even begin to tell the long love story of London and beer brewing without getting thirsty so it is best that you check for yourself! There are countless pubs, bars and restaurants where you can enjoy your favourite beer in London, many of which are also producing their own craft beer. Some of the best ones is definitely Camden Town Brewery with ‘Hells’, exquisite brew that will definitely refresh you after a long day in the city.
6. Karlovac
Well, I really can’t finish this article without mentioning my home town in Croatia – Karlovac. Situated on four rivers, the ideal renaissance city has a long tradition of brewing beer and producing one of the most famous beers in Croatia – Karlovačko. All the beer lovers love August in Karlovac, when people all around Croatia and from many other countries come to a very famous beer festival where besides beer, you can enjoy music, good food and good company of course!
