Indian tour company Adventures Overland is launching what’s being dubbed as “the world’s longest bus journey.”
1. 56-day trip
Due to depart on August 7 from Istanbul, the 56-day trip is available for up to 30 passengers and will span 22 countries. The bus journey will take travelers from Turkey’s largest city, through the Balkans, eastern Europe, Scandinavia and western Europe, ending the tour in London, on October 1. Among the highlights of the 12,000km journey, travelers can expect a ferry crossing on the Gulf of Finland, a cruise along the Norwegian Fjords, and a visit to the North Cape, the northernmost point in continental Europe.

2. Pricing
The entire package amounts to $24,300 and includes a daily breakfast, 30 lunches and dinners, as well as all hotel accomodation on a twin sharing basis. While some people don’t fancy bus trips, the vehicle operated by Adventures Overland is described as “a special luxury bus designed for comfortable long-distance travel.”
Passengers were guaranteed the possibility to relax on recliner adjustable seats “with ample legroom” and make use of AUX and USB ports, a foldable tray and bottle and cup holders. Each passenger is allowed to bring two “full-size suitcases” with them.
The India company also takes care of the necessary documentation, paperwork, visas and permits to ensure that travelers are entirely focused on experiencing the journey and can skip the administrative hassle.

3. Hippie Trail
The bus to London journey has been inspired by the the Hippie Trail buses that crossed the world during the 1950s and 1960s. The original departure date was set to begin in 2021, but the planned route, which covered destinations such as Myanmar, China and Russia, was unable to launch as expected, as it is currently closed to international visitors.
Adventures Overland was founded in 2012 by entrepreneurs Tushar Agarwal and Sanjay Madan, who embraced the project of organising various India-to-London expeditions.
Every single route in each country has been vetted to ensure that the journey is seamless so participants on Bus to London can get on board with the knowledge and confidence that they are in safe hands.

The first expeditions, however, were slightly different as travelers brought their own cars and travelled in a convoy. Before introducing their first cross continental bus journey, Adventures Overland was offering routes across Iceland and Russia.
