Uniworld Boutique River Cruises have released their lineup for 2025 and one cruise in particular has managed to captivate travellers’ attention. The company is launching its very first women-only river cruise, which will take its voyagers on a journey through the South of France.
“Travellers have demonstrated an increasing desire for more specialised and unique experiences, inspiring us to develop a wide range of new themed cruises for 2025,” President and CEO of Uniworld, Ellen Bettridge, said in a news release.
The women-only cruise will take its passengers on a voyage through Burgundy and the Provence in the South of France on the Rhône and Saône rivers. The idea is for the women aboard to be able to tread in the footsteps of famous painters such as Van Gogh and Cézanne, who visited the region in their days, and to get a taste of the local gastronomy.
“Guests on this inaugural themed cruise can expect to immerse themselves in France on new excursions, partake in breathtaking Nights Out, mingle at cocktail parties, laugh and dance along to surprise entertainment and receive special gifts to remind them of this one-of-a-kind trip for years to come. Bring your mothers, sisters, adult daughters, best friends or any special women in your life, or embark on a solo adventure where you’re destined to make new friends during a week of exploration, connection, immersion, relaxation and laughter”, Uniworld writes.
The river cruise will start in Arles, where travellers will be able to discover remnants from Roman times and Van Gogh’s work on a walking tour. Up next is Avignon, where a visit to either the Palace of the Popes or the Roman Aqueduct is on the itinerary. Viviers offers a day full of village experiences while Tain l’Hermitage is the perfect place for a wine tasting tour and some chocolate shopping. The river cruise ends with a stop in Lyon and Mâcon, with multiple visit options.
Prices for the cruise start at 2,799 euros per person for the seven-night package. Meals, beverages and day tours are included in the fare, while post-cruise extensions to Athens, Santorini, Cassis or Paris are optional.
