Building on the success of previous services, Uber is expanding its boat and yacht offering in some of Europe’s most popular destinations this summer.
In August, Uber Yacht will return to Ibiza. Starting 26 July, users can pre-book a private Sunseeker yacht, that accommodates up to 8 people, via the Uber Reserve app, at least 24 hours in advance. Departing daily at 12 pm from the Ibiza Town Marina, the 8-hour trip, priced at €1,600, provides a relatively affordable way compared to other available services to enjoy the picturesque island. The experince includes a personal skipper, a complimentary bottle of champagne, local artisan snacks and transfers from anywhere on the island to the marina.
Meanwhile, Venice visitors will be the first ones to ride the new “Limo Boat” that is launching in July. Users will be able to enjoy the Venetian Lagoon from a boat that fits up to 6 people. Available daily from 8 am to 8 pm, the ride will cost €120, although details about the lenght of the trip or itinerary have not been revealed.
In Greece, Uber Boat will expand its services from Mykonos to Athens, Corfu and Santorini, so this summer travellers can reach even more places, from beach clubs to remote coves.
Lastly, launching just in time for the Paris Olympics, Uber Cruise will be a free one-hour private tour on an all-electric boat along the Seine. The service will run by famous landmarks like Notre Dame, the Louvre museum and the Eiffel Tower, and include a complimentary glass of champagne.
The expansion was driven by an increase of up to 55% in demand for Uber services in Europe’s most popular tourist destinations last year. According to the company’s data, over 6.5 million international users accessed the app last summer, with more than 800,000 in Ibitza alone over the past year.
