What are the most popular, most beautiful sights in the world? Tourists of all eras have asked themselves the same questions and over the years, that has led to many rankings. From the original Seven Wonders of the World to the New Seven Wonders and everything in between, man has been wondering about beautiful destinations for a very long time. Insurance company AllClear has now made a tool to facilitate your search for the best and most beautiful tourist attractions when booking your next trip, showing the most popular sight per country all on one single map.
To be able to put together such a map, the people from AllClear headed over to Wikipedia. They analysed the number of pageviews for more than 4.300 different attractions all around the globe to determine the most popular ones, consisting of cultural and historical sites, parks and reserves, ancient structures and ruins, mountains, volcanoes and rocks, natural wonders, lakes, lagoons, rivers and seas, religious landmarks, islands and archipelagos, modern architectural sites, dams and canals, statues and monuments and deserts. That resulted in a new top seven, showing – according to the insurance company – which attractions people tend to wonder about the most.
Top seven most wondered about attractions are:
1. The Taj Mahal (India) – 28,601,383 page views
2. The Burj Khalifa (United Arab Emirates) – 23,423,701 page views
3. Mount Everest (Nepal) – 22,066,676 page views
4. The Statue of Liberty (United States of America) – 19,851,871 page views

However, those in the top seven are just the most visited but may not be the most interesting to you. Having a look at the most popular attraction in your home country or in the countries close to you may for example be a great start for an upcoming city trip or holiday.
