Sun, sea, and a delicious cocktail. You don’t need much more than that for a relaxing summer holiday, far away from the daily rat race. Yet unless you’re planning on going commando at the beach, you’ll still need a fitting swimsuit for the occasion. With so many swimwear brands around these days, choosing where to shop can be a bit of a hassle. That’s why we’ve selected the coolest swimwear brands out there for your 2025 summer holidays.
1. Kaly Ora
Having discovered the dark side of the fashion industry in Bangkok, Flore decided she wanted to do things differently at her own label. Kaly Ora, based in Brussels, therefore opts for a sustainable approach using Econyl regenerated nylon and transparent pricing.
“We dreamed of creating a brand that made sense — a small, independent label driven by strong values and a sincere desire to do things right. And that’s how Kaly Ora was born: a brand offering timeless, long-lasting, and responsibly made pieces designed to make you feel good, and to be cherished for years,” founder Flore writes.
When buying a Kaly Ora swimsuit, you get two for the price of one. Thanks to the fact that all models are reversible, you can either opt for the joyful print when you’re feeling like it, or for the more modest plain colour. Kaly Ora also has a beachwear line, which easily adapts to a romantic dinner setting.
2. Nénés
‘Nénés’ means as much as ‘boobs’ in French and that straightforward name immediately sets the tone. Nénés was born in France in 2018 and has since become a well-loved brand.
“From the beginning, our aim has been to offer an alternative to fast fashion. That’s why all our designs are made in Portugal or France from responsible materials, in small quantities and at fair prices. Our goal? To enhance women’s natural bodies with feminine, high-quality cuts. And to accompany them for as long as possible with timeless yet unique designs.”
In what is truly an exception in the fast-paced fashion industry, Nénés offers a free 2 year reparation service on all its products and even afterwards, clients can send their broken products to the atelier and have them repaired. And if you want a swimwear change, you can even send them your old swimsuit and receive a voucher in return. Our favourite? Anything in the green checkered print.
3. Tona
If you’re looking for an inclusive swimwear label, Tona might just be the one. Their extensive sizing range is a very welcome sight in a world often reigned by size 34 and the brand’s lookbook is a true curve feast.
“Tona, founded by Stylist Tona Stell, is a sustainable swimwear brand that champions all bodies and provides contemporary designs that embrace every shape. The planet is important when creating fashion pieces, so consciously reducing carbon footprint and prioritising the planet is a huge part of our ethos. At Tona we are driven by a flawless fit and every piece we make is tried and tested on real women and designed to be flattering on every body shape.”
Tona has both plain coloured and printed fabrics. The printed swimsuits are made from Econyl regenerated nylon but the bespoke organic cotton towelling fabric is where the brand really stands out from the crowd. A swimsuit that feels like a pair of cuddly pyjamas? Yes, please.
4. Hunza G
The original Hunza brand has been around since 1984 and can even be seen in the now iconic Pretty Woman movie. Nowadays known as Hunza G, the brand is the place to go for those looking for a vintage inspired piece of swimwear.
“The vision for Hunza G has been to make women feel amazing in swimwear, which is often a time when they feel most vulnerable. I could see the potential of this heritage brand and how we could make it diverse and inclusive – but also aspirational – making a product that would appeal to a really broad mix of women and serve all different body types,” owner Georgiana Huddart states.
Hunza G uses a very recognisable crinkle fabric, allowing them to create a ‘one size fits all’. According to the brand, this makes their swimwear extra sustainable, as there is less surplus at the end of the season.
5. Ysé
If there’s one style we would like to adhere to this Summer, it is without a doubt the classic French glamour. France-based brand Ysé knows how to translate this into swimwear like no other and the fact that they’re B Corp certified only makes things better.
“At Ysé, we are a team of women aware of the challenges posed by the textile industry. We’re talking about major environmental issues, and also about fair working conditions. From day one, we’ve set ourselves the mission of doing better, every season, not simply to tick boxes, but because we deeply believe in it, both as a company, and as individuals. It’s our strong commitment to our customers, to our suppliers, and to society, to do things consciously.”
Sunflower-clad swimsuits, minimalistic bikinis, upcycled collections… The brand has a wide array of options, offering something to everyone’s taste. The pictures alone make us want to immediately book a stay in the South of France. Ysé also. Has a ready-to-wear and a lingerie collection, both just as beautiful as their swimwear.
