The South Korean Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ has become the entertainment phenomenon of the moment. In just a few days, the series reached the top spot on the streaming platform in several countries. It has topped Netflix several countries’ watch-lists since its release three weeks ago.
Netflix co-chief executive Ted Sarandos has said that the series was set to overtake Bridgerton as the streamer’s most watched original TV show ever.
‘Squid Game’ shows us several participants playing a lethal version of children’s games. The story centers on a competition in which about 450 indebted individuals play children’s games to claim the ultimate prize, roughly $50 million. Each round of eliminations doesn’t involve simply being disqualified and a trip off the island. It means death.
