Lufthansa has unveiled a €2.5 billion long-haul travel revamp that includes a “flying private room” for first class passengers.
Lufthansa is adding the new “Suite Plus” to its premium First Class offering, setting a new standard in comfort and individuality within its most sophisticated travel class. The new first class suite will include gourmet dining, a double bed and total privacy.
Every guest has their own understanding of premium, which is why we focus on maximum individuality and exclusivity.
Jens Ritter, CEO Lufthansa Airlines.
1. The ‘First Class Suite Plus’ concept
The new “Suite Plus” is a private double cabin with ceiling-high walls and an entirely closable door, large table and two wide seats that can be combined into a comfortable double bed.
Other features include a system to warm or cool the seats, the possibility to connect the smartphone to the entertainment system, and a suite wardrobe. Service is also at the highest level.
The new First Class concept will be launched in 2024 on the new Airbus A350s as part of “Lufthansa Allegris,” the airline’s new long-haul product.
The First Class Suite Plus conveys the feeling of privacy and individuality similar to a hotel room – only at an altitude of eleven kilometers.

Meanwhile, Lufthansa is improving the overall travel experience in all travel classes (Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class), with a total investment of 2.5 billion euros by 2025.
2. Business Class with private suites
With the new Business Class service, passengers will have their own suite with chest-high walls and sliding doors. Business Class travelers will enjoy extended personal space, a monitor up to 27 inches in size, ample storage, a private wardrobe and personal minibar. It will also be possible to connect two suites for people traveling together.
Passengers will have the possibility to choose between six additional seat options, depending on whether they want an extra-long bed, a work area, a seat with a baby bassinet, or simply an exclusive seat directly by the window. A double seat with a reclining surface for two is also available.
3. Premium Economy and Economy Class with more space
The “Allegris” seat of the Premium and Economy Class offers more legroom and a fold-out leg rest. Moreover, the seat can be adjusted further back than the current model with no effect on fellow passengers in the row behind.
Premium Economy Class passengers will also receive a sustainable travel amenity kit.
Guests in the Economy Class will have the option of booking additional seats in the first rows or a free seat next to them.
