A lot has been happening on the Las Vegas Strip in recent months, despite monthly gaming revenues having dropped for five months straight in 2024. The latest announcement concerns the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, which is planning a $300 million remodel of all 4,212 rooms and suites in its main tower. Moreover, 111 suites will be added to the tower, resulting in a total of 753 suites.
“MGM Grand has long been recognised as the center of entertainment and excitement in Las Vegas and these newly remodelled rooms, coupled with new attractions on the horizon, demonstrate our commitment to evolving the guest experience for both leisure and business travellers,” MGM Grand President Mike Neubecker said in a statement. “These new rooms are a significant milestone in the property’s evolution as MGM Grand positions itself for the exciting developments set for the south end of The Strip.”
The renovation is inspired by the disco era and promises a playful yet elegant atmosphere. Depending on room size, finishes will vary – while the suites will include dark ebony and walnut wood finishes, the King Rooms will feature walnut wood finishes and funky carpet designs. The Queen Rooms will in their turn have grey stone finishes and tailored headboards. Media consoles will be updated throughout all rooms, and Smart TVs and charging stations will be added. The bathrooms will be upgraded with walk-in showers and an overall spa-like decor.

In the halls and the rooms, original artworks will be hung in order to reflect the past, present and future of MGM Grand. Artworks will included LED pieces, reminiscent of the disco era, especially in combination with the floral and dreamy patterns of the carpet.
The entire project is set to be completed by December 2025 but the first renovated rooms will already be available to guests in March 2025. Other than the new rooms and suites, MGM Grand will be introducing a range of other novelties to its offer in order to enrich the fully integrated resort experience and to further prove its legacy as a premier entertainment destination.
Early 2025 will see the opening of Netflix Bites, where chefs will serve cuisine inspired by Netflix shows. The Summer of 2025 will in its turn see the launch of the Palm Tree Beach Club, “a tropical-inspired day club from world-renown DJ Kygo’s Palm Tree Crew”.
