With endless travel restrictions and regulations, ‘virtual’ has become the new way for everything. Virtual socialising, virtual work meetings, virtual cultural events, and even virtual travel. However Canadian artist Jon Rafman has taken this to a new level by putting together a collection of the world’s most absurd sights as shown by Google Street View, in a project named 9 eyes. An accumulation of hours of dedicated browsing, here are some of the bizarre things the Google Street View car probably didn’t mean to photograph, but has nevertheless, and thanks to Rafman we can enjoy them wherever we are. Here are a few of the best:
Embarrassing as it may be for Google Street View to catch you in your pyjamas, this seems even worse…
This person was obviously not keen on the 9 eye camera taking a snap!
A game of hide and seek perhaps? We see you…
Is anyone else seeing double?
A little reminder of how NOT to drive, whether using Google Maps or not!
Ahh out in the countryside, scenes of fields, forests and…mooneys?
If these are hitchhikers i’m not sure how much luck they’ll have…
I think Google Street View might be a bit lost…
There should be more road signs like this!
Traffic detected ahead, time added to your journey? Depends, how well trained are the sheep?
