MSC Cruises has unveiled plans for a major transformation of MSC Poesia, with extensive upgrades that will debut ahead of the ship’s summer 2026 deployment in Alaska. The revamp, described by the company as one of the largest in its history, will bring a host of new features, including the MSC Yacht Club, expanded dining options, and a reimagined spa, offering a premium guest experience from Alaska’s rugged coastline to the Caribbean’s warm waters.
The highlight of the refurbishment is the introduction of the MSC Yacht Club, the line’s signature “ship within a ship” concept. On MSC Poesia, the Yacht Club will feature 63 suites across five categories, ranging from ocean-view balcony suites to a Two-Room Grand Suite and a Royal Suite. The Royal Suite accommodates up to six guests and comes with a private whirlpool, a spacious terrace, and an outdoor shower with panoramic ocean views.

Guests booking the Yacht Club will also have access to dedicated areas, including the Yacht Club Restaurant, Top Sail Lounge with panoramic windows, and a private sundeck equipped with a grill, bar, and two whirlpools. Yacht Club guests will also benefit from personalised services such as 24-hour butler and concierge support.

“Onboard MSC Poesia, guests will enjoy MSC Cruises’ signature sailing experience combining European style with American comfort, while sailing through the breathtaking channels of the Inside Passage,” the cruise line said in its press release.
Dining and entertainment options will also see a significant boost. The refurbishment will add Butcher’s Cut, an American-style steakhouse serving premium cuts from “Meat by Linz.” Guests will enjoy exquisite Asian cuisine at the popular Kaito Sushi Bar, refreshed with a new venue inspired by the Far East, while the All-Stars Sports Bar will bring a lively game-day atmosphere with screens, snacks, and bar drinks. These additions expand the variety of specialty dining and casual venues on board, serving a wider range of passenger preferences.

Wellness will take centre stage with a fully upgraded MSC Aurea Spa. The space will feature an ocean-view sauna, two steam rooms, a salt room, a Kneipp path, emotional showers, and extended relaxation areas where guests can enjoy freshly made tea. The ship’s fitness centre offers striking ocean-facing workout areas with advanced Technogym equipment, a separate yoga room, and new sports facilities including a jogging track, basketball and tennis courts.

The upgrades will be completed in time for MSC’s first-ever Alaska season, beginning in May 2026. Sailing round-trip from Seattle, the ship will operate seven-night itineraries to destinations such as Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Tracy Arm, Juneau, and Victoria, British Columbia. Guests will be able to explore Alaska’s unrivalled beauty, stunning scenery, and rich wildlife.

Following the Alaska journey, MSC Poesia will reposition to Miami for the winter 2026-27 season, offering 10- and 11-night cruises exploring the Caribbean and Central America, including stops in Jamaica, Colombia, Costa Rica, Aruba, Curaçao, and Belize – an ideal escape for sun seekers. Each port of call will offer a diverse range of excursions, from tasting local flavours to exploring pristine landscapes or cruising tranquil waterways seeking unique wildlife encounters.
The transformation of MSC Poesia signals the cruise line’s ongoing investment in expanding premium offerings across its fleet. With these upgrades, MSC Poesia is poised to offer passengers an elevated experience at sea, combining ultimate comfort, relaxation, and a wide range of activities for every type of traveller. The line has confirmed that bookings are already open for the 2026 Alaska season, including the new Yacht Club suites.
