When travelling, most of us can’t do without a hotel. Sure, you can go camping or stay at a hostel, yet after all, hotels are often the way to go if you’re looking for a more luxurious experience. Nice bed linens, a big bath, maybe a pool, a delicious breakfast buffet… We could go on and on, yet you probably get the gist. A nice hotel is filled with luxuries you don’t necessarily get to experience on a day to day basis. And that’s okay, because that’s exactly what makes a holiday such a nice treat.
Yet if all of those previously mentioned, more ‘common’ amenities aren’t enough, there’s always a way to make things even better. And we might actually have found the ultimate relaxing experience for you to enjoy. It’s named The Goatel and it’s very probably exactly what you imagine when hearing that name.
Goat yoga and Happy Hour
The Goatel is a hotel currently based in Alvin, Texas, but the concept will soon be expanding to other parts of the United States as well. This spring, two other branches will be opening their doors: one in Rabun Gap, Georgia, and one in Williamston, Michigan. The whole concept of The Goatel started with goat yoga or caprine vinyasa, originally invented by Lainey Morse. During goat yoga you’re surrounded by a bunch of the animals, which will just do ‘their thing’ during the session. Maybe they’ll crawl into your lap, maybe they’ll climb onto you’re back, maybe they’ll let out a little fart or something else just in front of you. But whatever they do, their presence will most likely make your yoga experience even more relaxing.
After the success of goat yoga, Morse then established The Goatel in the spring of 2020. Guests at the hotel do not only get to participate in the goat yoga classes yet they can even spend some time with the funny animals during Goat Happy Hour. The rooms, in their turn, are decorated with a bunch of goat-themed decorations and let’s be honest, the whole property is just a sight for sore eyes. Those who are looking for a relaxing experience, far from the everyday world, don’t have to look any further.
Of course, such an original experience doesn’t come very cheap. For one night, you’ll have to pay approximatively 165 dollars per person, depending on the time of the year and the branch. Maybe something to ask for your next birthday?
