Disney is expanding all its revenue streams. During the the “D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event” in California, the companys Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced not only the biggest expansion of its US parks, but also the enlargement of the Cruise Line’s fleet. After having announced several novelties over the past few months, including the launch of its biggest vessel yet, D’Amaro has now unveiled that four new ships will be setting sail between 2027 and 2031.
The Disney Cruise Line already has five cruise ships in its fleet and four additions have already been announced. With the reveal of yet an extra four, there will be a total of thirteen Disney cruises sailing around the world by 2031, witnesses of the apparent success of the company.
“Disney Cruise Line is consistently the top-rated cruise line for families because it offers something for everyone. Expanding our fleet gives more people, in more parts of the world, the opportunity to experience a vacation at sea like only Disney can provide,” D’Amaro said during ‘Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase’.
Even though the number of ships was announced, no details have been unveiled just yet concerning the layout of the vessels or where they will be stationed. “At Disney Experiences, Imagineers dream, create, design and build these stories into real places… everything we’re going to share with you is in active development. Plans are drawn. Dirt is moving”, Josh D’Amaro commented.
“Disney Cruise Line is a shining example of the diversity and breadth of experiences that make up the Disney Experiences portfolio – bringing together our signature Disney service, storytelling and innovation. Our growing fleet will further strengthen Disney Cruise Line’s position as a leader in family cruising. Disney Cruise Line has produced strong returns on capital investment, thanks to high quality experiences, generating strong guest satisfaction ratings and consistent demand: occupancy reached 97% across its five ships in Q2 2024”, said Thomas Mazloum, president of the New Experiences Portfolio and Disney Signature Experiences.
