Love Lake, an artificial lake in Dubai in the shape of a heart, has become one of the favorite tourist destinations for romantic couples. The place joins a long list of amazing sites located in the UAE city.
Love Lake is technically composed of two intertwined lakes that form a heart and, with its 55,000 square meters, is already one of the best places for couples.
Located at a considerable distance from any urban area, Love Lake is an oasis surrounded by desert that is also visible from space. The amount invested in this paradise is unimaginable, especially considering that it consists of hundreds of thousands of varieties of shrubs, more than 16,000 trees and thousands of flowers, including the red begonia, arranged in the shape of a heart and spelling the word ‘Love’.
Despite revealing its status in 2018, the curious place began to attract the attention of citizens and tourists after Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, shared on his Instagram a photo from the air of the popular place with the caption, “For all of you.”
A few meters away from the Love Lakes, and next to Al Maktoum Airport, stands the Expo 2020. Created to celebrate Dubai hosting the first World Expo in the Middle East, Africa and South Asian region, the Expo blends with the placid yet barren landscape that surrounds it.
Although the lake has become a popular destination for the more romantic, it is advisable to see it from the air as, if viewed from the ground, all you will appreciate is a slightly curved lake.
