Ahead of a busy and possibly, yet again, chaotic summer for air travel, Brussels Airport is preparing to ease the journey for passengers by introducing a yearly, unlimited fast lane pass.
The new product is already available for pre-order and comes at a huge discount for those who sign up for the service now. Normally, it costs €12.5 to use the fast lane once, but with the yearly pass, Brussels Airport promises unlimited access to the service for €169, while passengers who pre-order their pass before 20 April get the early bird offer and only pay “an introductory price of €99”.
Moreover, frequent flyers who pre-order the pass and complete the purchase before 7 May will receive a €100 bonus to spend on the airport’s online shop. This will come in the form of 4 vouchers, each worth €25, which can be spend on all products, including alcohol. The vouches, valid until the end of the year, can be applied for orders of minimum €75 and do not cover Gold, Unlimited Fast Lane, Fast Lane, Lounge and Panos.
As of 20 April, the pass will be available to anyone in Brussels Airport’s online shop and customers can register the subscription to their account. Once the purchase is complete, passengers receive a QR code in their confirmation email, which is also automatically added to the personal dashboard of their account. The code can also be added to Apple or Google wallets for convenience and gives access to the fast lane for an entire year from the moment of purchase.
The fast lane allows passengers to go quicker through security screening, which, the airport says, comes in handy especially during morning hours when it tends to be busier than usual. Additionally, with the number of regular fast lane passes being limited, the yearly subscription ensures passengers have access to the fast lane even if all the slots for the day of their travel have already been filled.
The QR code can only be used by the person who purchased it and while it is valid for anytime during the year, the fast lane service is only open between 4am and 9pm daily, so customers who travel outside this period will not have use for it anyways. Additionally, while the fast lane is available for passengers flying within or outside the Schengen area, the pass it only applicable for the security screening, not offering any benefits for border control.
