Eurostar has announced thousands of discounted tickets in a flash sale with 75,200 discounted tickets available for travel into 2024. But those planning a European city break will need to act quickly, as the offer only lasts until 27 November 2023.
Winter wonderlands by train
Voyagers this winter can choose among 18 destinations, from Eurostar hubs in London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Lille, Paris, or Rotterdam, or connecting to wintery wonderland markets in Germany and beyond. The bargains are to be had on standard class tariffs only. With prices from London promised at no more than €45 (£39) and some fares as low as €16 (£13.91), treating yourself to a spontaneous city break or buying a trip for someone else as a Christmas gift suddenly seems well within budget – and you’ll have more money left over for all those tumblers of glühwein, pastries, and chic little trinkets to bring home as souvenirs.
Low price, low emissions
If you have been watching your carbon expenditure as well as your wallet, it’s worth nothing that a London to Paris Eurostar train ride has 96 per cent fewer emissions than flying, as well as getting you there in just over two hours. Check-in and luggage restrictions are not as painful generally as those in airports. And of course, travelling from train station to train station takes you to the throbbing heart of your chosen city, instead of landing you several miles or kilometres outside where you want to be.
Summer, sport and romance in Paris
Released on 21 November 2023, the batch of tickets to Paris will be selling fast. They are valid for travel dates between 3 January and 16 March 2024. But wait! If you prefer the idea of summer in the City of Love (or seeing your favourite sport and athletes at the Olympics and Paralympics), Eurostar has also discounted another wave of tickets available for travel between 25 July and 9 September 2024. Discounts of up to 55% on usual prices can be had, according to Trainline.
