It’s a polemic topic, Banksy, genius of vandal? The popular exhibition of the same name, which lets you see original artworks and decide for yourself, is now coming to Brussels following its great success in 15 cities around the world.
1. The largest collection of Banksy works
Featuring more than 80 genuine, authenticated artworks by renowned anonymous British artist Banksy formed from private European collections, the largest collection of his artworks anywhere, the exhibition lets ‘visitors dive into the controversial artistic universe of the most influential creator of present time’. As well as showcasing Banksy’s work, Banksy:Genius or Vandal? presents art installations, photos and videos showing street works by the artist, which are currently mostly lost, in what was their original organic environment.
It is an impressive multimedia installation which has been created especially for the exhibition, creating a multisensory artistic immersion for visitors, revealing clues of the mystery artist and highlighting the most important pieces. As with other Banksy exhibitions, this one is not authorised by the artist. Banksy remains anonymous and independent from the system, with an unusual career surrounded by controversy.
2. Important information
The exhibition is Covid-friendly and accessible to all ages. It takes place in a spacious venue and has been organised with the highest safety measures in mind, with all spaces having been created taking into account the new social distancing rules. It is also suitable for the general public including families, school groups, couples and the elderly.
Banksy:Genius or Vandal? opens on 10th June 2021 and is open weekdays from 10am to 7pm and weekends from 9am to 9pm. The visit takes around 60-80 minutes and is at Grand Place 5, 1000 Brussels, Belgium.
