On 13 July 2026, luxury cruise line Silversea announced a new partnership with golf travel brand PerryGolf. Travellers will be given access to some of the world’s most iconic golf courses, all fees included.
Themed cruises are by no means a novelty in the industry. From musical routes to nude voyages, there is something to be found for (almost) everyone. As cruises gain in popularity, so do their more niche versions.
Henceforward, golf enthusiast cruise travellers will be able to fulfil their dreams thanks to a new collaboration between luxury cruise line Silversea and golf travel brand PerryGolf. A selection of themed voyages will give guests access to some of the world’s most iconic golf courses, including Royal Liverpool (host of The Open) and Camiral (the course that will be hosting the Ryder Cup).
“Silversea is built on giving guests access to experiences that go beyond what most travel can offer. Our partnership with PerryGolf extends that standard to golf – placing guests on some of the world’s most celebrated courses, with every detail managed and every comfort included. This is what Silversea does best – removing the barriers between our guests and the experiences they care about most,” said Bert Hernandez, president at Silversea.
As part of the experience, guests will be able to enjoy a selection of services, most of which are included in the cruise fee.
- Guaranteed play: Pre-arranged tee times and green fees included.
- Seamless logistics: Luxury transfers between the ship and the course.
- Hands-free equipment care: Guests may bring their own clubs, which PerryGolf manages from embarkation to disembarkation; rental clubs are also available upon request for those who prefer not to travel with their own equipment.
- Practice privileges: Access to practice facilities and range balls at select courses.
- On-course dining and beverages: Lunch and refreshments provided at each venue.
- Social experiences: Welcome and farewell receptions, plus onboard gatherings.
- Friendly competition: A one-day tournament format with awards.
- Dedicated program leadership: A PerryGolf expert accompanying guests throughout the journey.
“PerryGolf has spent nearly three decades creating exceptional golf cruise experiences in the world’s great golf destinations. This partnership with Silversea allows us to bring that expertise to an even more elevated setting, combining the ease and comfort of luxury ocean travel with access to some of the game’s most revered courses. From the British Isles to the Mediterranean and the South Pacific, these voyages are designed for travellers who want the golf to be every bit as memorable as the journey itself,” stated Alex Shattuck, CEO at PerryGolf.
The first itineraries resulting from the partnership are scheduled to set sail in 2027. The gold cruises will include a Southampton to Southampton route in August 2027, a Barcelona to Barcelona voyage in October/November 2027, and a Sydney to Auckland sailing in January/February 2028.
Although more itineraries are expected to be added to the sailing schedule soon, the first golf courses to be included in the new golf themed cruises are the Royal Liverpool Golf Club (England), the Prince’s Golf Club (England), the Portstewart Golf Club (Northern Ireland), the Cabot Highlands (Scotland), the Dumbarnie Links (Scotland), the Camiral Stadium Course (Spain), Las Colinas Golf & Country Club (Spain), the Son Gual Golf Mallorca (Spain), the Club de Golf Alcanada (Spain), the. Tasmania Golf Club (Australia), the Otago Golf Club (New Zealand), the Royal Wellington Golf Club (New Zealand), the Cape Kidnappers Golf Course (New Zealand), and the Kauri Cliffs Golf Course (New Zealand).
According to the 2026 State of the Global Cruise Industry report released in April 2026 by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the global cruise passenger volume reached a historic high of 37.2 million in 2025. Nearly 90% of cruise voyagers indicated they intended to plan a new cruise, showing the resilience and potential of the industry.
