We can’t always predict the weather in Europe, even during the summer sometimes it rains, or worse. It can be difficult planning to spend time with your family or friends outside, and entertaining activities like going to a waterpark are very weather dependant. Lovely when the sun is shining and the sky is blue, but it’s not so fun when its raining. However there are some waterparks you can enjoy in every season and which make for the perfect day out. Europe has some great indoor waterparks, so here are 5 of the best indoor waterparks in Europe.
1. Tropical Islands Resort, Germany
This tropical waterpark is located in the former Brand-Briesen Airfield in Halbe, Germany, 50 kilometres from the southern boundary of Berlin. The tropical dome is a swimming pool complex, housing Germany’s highest waterslide tower, a tropical sea, and a lagoon and the resort, and has a world record for the largest indoor waterpark. With a a maximum capacity of 8,200 visitors a day, it is also the fourth-largest building in the world by usable volume. Besides all of that the dome houses a tropical rain forest home to around 50,000 plants with a one-kilometre trail winding its way through, so you’ll really feel like you’re and actual jungle.
2. Aquadome Billund, Denmark
Aquadome Billund is a family park with twisting water slides, a lazy river & artificial waves, plus a pool for toddlers. Located in Lalandia in Billund, Denmark, this resort has many attractions and the Lalandia Aquadome is Scandinavia’s largest waterpark, measuring an impressive 10,000 m². The water slides include Tornado which uses 4-person dinghy’s, Octopus Racers featuring head-first racing, and 102-metre Twister. There is also plenty of greenery around the buildings where children can play and which adds to the scenery and atmosphere of the place.
3. Suntago Waterpark, Poland
You can find this amusement and leisure park in central Poland, in Wręcza, Żyrardów County, about 50 kilometres southwest of the capital Warsaw. With its 18 pools, 32 slides, 10 saunas and luxury spas, it makes the perfect place for a wonderful day out!
4. Aqualibi, Belgium
Aqualibi is an indoor waterpark featuring both high-speed and gentle water slides, a wave pool and a kids zone. Located just next to Walibi theme park in Wavre, close to Brussels, Belgium, this place is great for a visit both with and without children. Unfortunately at the moment they are temporarily closed because of the recent floods, but they will reopen soon so be sure to add it to your list!
5. Aquaworld, Budapest
Aquaworld Resort Budapest is a four-star superior conference and wellness hotel with an indoor and outdoor waterpark. With 11 giant slides, a wave pool, a water walking ball, surfing and diving, there is entertainment for hours! For the little kids there are children’s pools and playgrounds, and there really is something for everyone so be sure to not miss this place!
